I have started using Google Calendar for such things. You can set up more than one alert for an upcoming event, anything from minutes to weeks in advance, and specify alert by popup, email or SMS (or any combination). And you can define recurring events - I have started adding birthdays there too.

Does anybody use Evolution's calendar? If so do you know how to get Evolution to show a reminder even if the computer wasn't on at the time of the reminder? E.g. I have an all day appointment scheduled for 31st May, and a Custom reminder to pop up an alert 14 days before hand. I still haven't recei
