We've had at least one laptop
that was powered by external "brick" power supply that had a similar problem ---
we've found that putting a a few wraps of the DC side of the power supply
through a ferrite core resulted in cleaning up this problem

I read on Hard Core DX where the Sennheiser HD 525 headphones were the best
for DX.
Perhaps there are other recommendations when different brands and models
have been compared.
Personally, I use Technics RP-HT86's though they are a bit on the bassy
side though I haven't compared them
