I don't see why a TIS would not be received in Europe. I have heard many
low power TIS when the band was more open. JFK 1700, two from VA, one
from Allentown PA, MI, a couple Metro Chicago ones with 9 watts on 1630.
I have seven 50 watt Japanese Lighthouse stations QSLid on 1670.

Might want to give the LAX TIS a shot on 530. They're running 100W, so it
should get out better than most. Assuming you're not in an area where Turks
& Caicos will drown them out.

Hi everyone:
You bet! It is very possible to pick up TIS in Europe, and I am
surprised that it hasn't happened more often. Before the more
westerly stations fade in there are DX opportunities to hear TISs on
channels like 1620, 1630, 1640, 1670, and 1700. These channels don't
have regular b

Is there any place where I could eventually send my Grundig YB-400 to
have the outer case replaced for a new one? Due to time and use, the
silver color has lost its beauty and in some places is opaque.
