Finally got a QSL from VOA for the Sao Tome relay today, almost four
months to the day. Report was sent to the DC address 4 months ago via
snail mail, and three weeks ago via the web site. Not sure which one
elicited the response.
On another note, I received this email from the VOA
I struggled for 2 hours this morning to ID the US station on 1700 khz.
Signal gradually got stronger around 0700 utc and the peak took place
about
local sunrise hee.
It was a national programme about 2006 predictions (how original !!)

was a Doctor on the line talking about
WWV is going to add one second to the clock. I believe it's on Dec.
31
but
missed the end of the message. Has anyone ever heard this before or
know
exactly when it's going happen?
The leap second is inserted at 2359:59 UTC on Dec. 31.. that would be
1859:59 Eastern standard
Had a couple of transatlantic Medium Waves receptions around 0500
hoursUTC
on thursday in the X-band.
1700 khz Caribbean station (French with a heavy West Indies accent)
but
could not make out who it was.
Anyone more updated on the X-band landscape ?

of RVC has ever been noted here during daylight of course.
If the T-storms has not been present I would have had an
outstanding quality recording of them (Marti) tonight..
