I'm not an utility expert, but I'd say that there are two stations in the
same frequency. "GXQ" resembles the identification that airports use, while
MPL2 sounds more like a military designator. Possibly military and civil
aviation are sharing the same frequency.
Just a thought.
Heard last night (early this local morning) on 1640 kHz with poor-fair-good
signals from 0748-0801 UTC carrying ESPN Sports Radio programmes, clear ID @ 08
UTC as "WTNI Talk Radio".
Rcvr: Sony ICF-SW7600GR with internal ferrite.
