** CUBA. 13632 approx., Oct 24 at 1454, RHC spurblob with F# tone is
JBA, so weak because 13700 AM fundamental is also weak, S1/S3. Then
found an even weaker match at +68 kHz, 13768 approx. They run past
1501 but all gone by 1524 recheck. It`s been months since I`ve logged
such blobs plus
** U S A. Correxion: tnx to Steve Howe for catching this: 5950, not 5900;
fixed:
5950, UT Sun Oct 24 at , WRMI starts Texas R SW with
`YROT` theme, intro by Second Mate Susan of Europirate KR1, 6285, Mike
Express. Unfortunately I have to listen during this hour to the only
broadcast/$tereo
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: confirmed Sat Oct

Also confirmed Sat Oct 23 at 2330 on WRMI 5950, offset +21.6 Hz, S9+28

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, our morning Oct 23 at 1357: 11460
Chinese with flutter; 11100 S3; 11070 & 10870 JBA until 1400* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey around our sunset here, Oct 23 at 2338:
6865, Chinese S6-S8 with flutter. After pirate check, so then I seek
others
** ANTARCTICA. 15476-, Oct 24 at 1932, JBA carrier, so LRA36 is active
this Thursday afternoon. In B-19, HFCC has no 15475 registrants at all
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CANADA. 346 kHz, Oct 23 at 0612 UT, dash and YXL, 500 watts from
Sioux Lookout, Ontario. This NDB is not
** CHINA. 9745, Oct 24 at 2018, S6-S8 and one of the better
extracontinental signals on band is Firedragon music, vs no victim
audible, i.e. RFA Chinese via Kuwait at 19-21. Both of them should
blow away poor Bahrain if it`s really 24/7 on 9745, never heard
anywhen here. BTW, this portion of
** BOLIVIA. 5935.0, Oct 23 at 2334, trace of modulation, presumed R. Yura on
its recent new frequency where normally I get a JBA carrier at best --- and
this is on the PL-880 and shortwire. Yet when I have fired up the NRD and
longerwire at 2352, it`s back to JBAC. Oct 24 at 2336 check, JBAC
** CUBA. 5055, Oct 24 at 0552, JBA carrier, presumably the leapfrog mixing
product of 5025 Rebelde over 5040 RHC another 15 kHz up. Yes, S9+30 5040 is on
tonight in English, not always the case after 0500. But 5025 is S9+20 of dead
air. No reverse leapfrog detectable, however, on 5010 (Glenn
** ALBANIA. See USA for R. Tirana frequency advice
** BIAFRA [non]. 15560, Oct 23 at 1825, very poor S4 signal with talk in
English(?), i.e. clandestine R. Biafra via FRANCE. One more try to hear it
here, but never any better than this for the 18-20 UT broadcast. Those who can
hear it and make
** KOREA NORTH [non]. 6020, Friday Oct 23 at 1333, very poor signal with talk
in Korean and distinctive Shiokaze sounders, so still here for the 1330-1430
broadcast from JAPAN, having missed presumed English on Thursday only. May well
jump to another of their alternate 49m channels in November
** AUSTRALIA. 6080, 6150, 9475, 9580, 12065, 12085, just as I suspected, R.
Australia has totally changed programming this week compared to last Friday,
when `Jazz Up Late` was on until 1330, then `Overnight from Classic FM`
(classical). Friday Oct 24 at 1225, obviously not jazz but a talk
** CHAD. 6165, Oct 23 at 0055 before Cuba is on, no sign of RNT tonight. Not
checked for a few nights, so wonder if still sporadic or finished the the
all-night broadcasts? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CHINA. Firedrake [non] CNR1 jamming, Oct 23 after 1300:
7310, good at 1301 but
** BANGLADESH. 15505, Oct 24 at 1358, BB is on with IS; and timesignal ending
at 1359:48, only 12 seconds early, opening Urdu. Mired in Mexican and non
mediumwave, I did not get around to checking for BB English on 15105 before
1300 today (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL.
** ALBANIA. 9590, Oct 23 at 0517, CRI Arabic via CĂ«rrik, which had been
distorted, has almost recovered, but is still slightly clearer and stronger on
// 9515 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BANGLADESH. 15505, Oct 23 at 1358, Bangladesh Betar on the air in time for a
change to play
** BIAFRA [non]. V. of Biafra International: did not catch it Oct 16, so I made
sure to check Oct 23 whether they had changed frequency again. No, still on
15665 via WHRI at 1902: altho reception poor with fading, backscatter
hollowness, immediately recognizable with All Hail Biafra anthem.
** CHINA. OTH radar pulses, presumed from here: Oct 23 at 1228 on
5775-5825, weak; at 1230 on 6960-7010 impinging on the 40m hamband. Rather
strong at 1255 on 7710-7750, enough to bother WYFR 7730 right smack dab in the
middle of it. That range still pulsing at 1352 after WYFR had closed at 1345
** GUAM [non]. Oct 23 at 1310 found English broadcast on 15320 I had not
noticed before, about proverbs for children. After a sidetrack to Turkey,
resumed listening at 1321, examples: ``The pen is mightier than the pig``, ``A
penny saved is not much``, ``Two is company, three is musketeers``,
** COSTA RICA. Another check for the REE 17850 spurs, Oct 23 at 1850: nothing
detectable on 18105v or 17595v, but REE Noblejas on 17595 by itself. It axually
sounded louder than 17850 during silly ballgame, but the meter said 17850 was a
stronger signal, the weaker modulation making the
** CHINA [and non]. Firedrake, 10450 against Sound of Hope, was fair at 1334
check Oct 23 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
On 7520, Oct 23 at 1336, heard slowly-enunciated Chinese (standard, I think),
but with buzz-saw jamming. Per EiBi, KTWR is getting the treatment:
7520 1100-1500 GUM
