Kind of off topic - BUT: I Have a prized radio collection and a golden rule:
Never loan out any radios to the curious. I broke that rule the other day -- to a young enthusiast... and Lord knows we need more radio enthusiasts... Loaned a young man (30+) my *Toshiba*, *RP-F11 - *and even before he got to play with it, he snapped the antenna off at the pivot point! This after a clear warning: This is a RARE radio. This radio is NOT replaceable or repairable. BE Careful with this radio... Even after all those warnings, there was a ham fist event that damaged the radio. If anyone out there has a dead or spare Toshiba, RP-F11 that they want to share with me for parts, I would be forever in their debt! And Folks: DO NOT Loan out radios unless you are prepared for the worse case scenario! -- Colin Newell is the Editor and creator of Coffeecrew.com - DXer.ca - BobHarris.com | Amateur Radio VA7WWV | Twitter.Com/CoffeeCrew | Victoria B.C.
