** BRAZIL. 5999.6, April 9 at 0519, RNB still here causing lite het to RHC, and
still missing from 6180. Recheck at 2350 April 9, again hetting RHC 6000, and
no 6180 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1716, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 9830, April 9 at 1248 looking for reported new frequency of
RHC, not heard, nor 9540, but yes heard on 9850 and 9550. Then checking higher
bands at 1250+, confirmed on 11760, 11860, 12010, 15230, 17580, 17730; Not
heard on 11750, 13780, 15340, 15370.

At 1315, 9550 still audible vs CRI Vietnamese; no 9830 or 9850; 15240 and 15370
now on, plus mixing product at 1322 on 15400.

At 1329 copy new frequency announcement and repeated at 1400; for a while they
had been omitting fq announcements: 17580 & 17730 -15; 15230 -15; 13-15 on
15340 & 15370; 11760 & 11860 & 12010 & 9830 -15; 9550 at 13-15. Presumably the
unspecified times ending at 15 do start at 11. No mention of 6000 or of 9850 at
any time. But at 1331 I am still hearing 9550, and now JBA on 9830 with Asian
CCI. At 1404, still on 9550 with CCI, 9830 now audible but with RTTY QRM. 9830,
great choice, Arnie! Not only RTTY, but also non-jammer CNR1 Beijing 572 site
thruout; Romania in Arabic from 1400, and Iran in Russian from 1420, per Aoki
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1716, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** FRANCE [non]. 17660, April 9 at 1255, RFI Afrique IDs in passing until
1300*. This one is 342 degrees via SOUTH AFRICA, good for US too from 1200 in
French (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGESET)

** KUWAIT. 15540, April 9 at 1948, R. Kuwait in English with PSA from Ministry
of Interior warning to be careful at game parks (I think they mean video games,
not animals!), then a novelty song; fair (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non non]. 21600, April 9 at 1949, WHRI with Overcomer, tho
not BS talking at the moment, ex-17730 for the first day, and // 15770 WRMI not
synchronized. Huge signal on 21600 presumably aimed NW, and the OSOB (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also USA: WRMI

** SWEDEN [non]. 11875, Wednesday April 9 at 1953, poor signal in African
language with French influence. Aoki shows it`s IBRA Radio (R. Ibrahim, but
surely Christian, not Moslem), which is in Malinke at 1945-2000 on Wednesday
and Thursday (Jula other days; 1930-1945 in Moore or Tamajeq in a different
pattern; and 1900-1930 daily in Fulfulde); 300 kW, 182 degrees from Woofferton
UK (Glenn hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 17530, April 9 at 1951, peuple speaking French in variety of accents,
including Creolish; maybe people-on-the-street interviews from VOA Greenville;
meanwhile, 15730 is open carrier, since it doesn`t start until 2000 while 17530
starts at 1930.

13605 & 11930, April 9 at 1952 check, R. Mart? via Greenville, detectable but
not readable vs wall-of-noise jamming, incomparably weaker than the bigsig
French frequencies, 15730 & 17530, Altho azimuths are different, hard to
believe GB is running full power on the Mart? frequencies, which is of course
totally necessary when confronting jamming (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OR RADIO 1716 monitoring: first airing to be April 10:
Thursday 1230 on WRMI-10, 9955
Thursday 2101 on WTWW-1, 9475
UT Friday 0327v on WWRB-1, 5050
Saturday 0630 & 1430 on Hamburger Lokalradio, 7265-CUSB [silent]
Saturday 2330 on WTWW-2, 9930
UT Sunday 0030 on WRMI-14, 9495 [maybe previous edition]
UT Sunday 0401 on WTWW-1, 5830
UT Monday 0300 on Area 51 via WBCQ, 5110v-CUSB
Tuesday 1100 on WRMI-10, 9955
Wednesday 0630 & 1430 on Hamburger Lokalradio, 7265-CUSB
Wednesday 1300 on WRMI-11, 9955
Updated full schedule:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9690, April 9 at 1249, WRMI-13 is back here with BS after straying to
7455 yesterday morning, too bad for India. Is BS aware of this unlucky number??
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4225 approx., April 9 at 0523, extremely distorted and unstable
SSB YL voice, ``out``. WNU Slidell LA is one station that has been reported
recently on this frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 0535 UT April 10

Indonesia, 4749.959, RRI Makassar, Suawesi, 1049-1110, At tune in noted a
weak signal revealing

just music off and on between fading. At 1052 a female comments briefly in
Indonesian Language.

A few minutes of dead air or total fade out follows until 1056 when music is
heard again but only

for a moment or two. Noise smothers the signal enough to block any further
details, but the

carrier is still observed in the Excalibur's presentation. At 1100 music
is heard again using

AMS mode. Previously LSB was helpful in hearing the signal. Finally by
1106 the signal seemed

to fade enough to discourage further monitoring. Overall it was threshold.

** BANGLADESH. 15505, April 10 at 1359:44, JBA timesignal ending from
Bangladesh Betar opening Urdu service (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. 6070, April 10 at 0637, no signal from CFRX. Even after QubaRM is
over. Hope it`s not another protracted or final breakdown (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. CNR1 jamming survey, no Firedrake to be heard:

 9680, April 10 at 1428, CNR1 jammer with CCI, behind 16100
9845, April 10 at 1432, CNR1 jammer, fair with CCI, echo with 16100
10960, April 10 at 1428, CNR1 jammer, fair, ~2 seconds behind 16100
11615, April 10 at 1427, CNR1 jammer with heavy victim CCI
15535, April 10 at 1313, CNR1 jammer + grinder + het on hi side
15565, April 10 until 1305* open carrier with flutter, lite het
15800, April 10 at 1422, CNR1 jammer, good
15940, April 10 at 1422, CNR1 jammer, VG with flutter, echo 16100
16100, April 10 at 1421, CNR1 jammer, good
16920, April 10 at 1434, CNR1 jammer, poor, an echo apart from 16100
17740, April 10 at 1424, CNR1 jammer, with CCI, echo apart from 16100
none in the 19s, 18s, 14s, 13s, 12s circa 1425
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5025, April 10 at 0630, R. Rebelde is still on, and 5040 RHC off.

6000, April 10 at 1238, RHC confirmed still here in the 11-13 period, altho not
mentioned in morning frequency announcements after 1300.

17730, April 10 until 1307* carrier only, back on at *1308, still no
modulation. Recheck at 1351 it`s now RHC.

9550, April 10 at 1320, RHC is audible vs CRI in Vietnamese, Commies for
Commies, vs Commies. At 1436, 9550 is still on with CCI, synched with 17730 and
an echo apart from 17580.

9830, April 10 at 1320, can`t hear anything but RTTY on new RHC frequency; at
1437, now I can barely make out RHC vs RTTY and other CCI, and match it to
other frequencies. This is a very weak outlet (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** TIBET [non]. 15530, April 10 at 1421, fair signal from presumed VOT via
MADAGASCAR, sounds more like Chinese than Tibetan (and VOT does broadcast
partly in Chinese), but not // CNR1 jammer frequencies. Presumably VOT started
the semihour on 15525 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U K [non]. 15420, Thursday April 10 at 1300, BBCWS news in English, good
signal! At last a decent frequency for us --- too good to be true as cut off
abruptly at 1304* before the news is over. A runover from the previous hour?
No, the only BBC usage left of 15420 in A-14 is Somali at 1400-1500 via SOUTH
AFRICA, plus Saturdays from 1300, per Aoki (EiBi implies the 14-15 hour is
Sun-Fri only and so does HFCC, but doesn`t show anything on Saturdays). Anyhow,
this too was probably Meyerton with a pre-transmission test, or just a mistake.
At 1420 check April 10 now in Somali with crowd roaring (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1716 monitoring: confirmed first airing Thursday April
10 at 1230 on WRMI, 9955; sufficient atop pulse jamming. WRMI repeats: UT
Sunday 0030 on 9495 (tho often it`s previous show); Tuesday 1100, Wednesday
1300 on 9955; UT Thursday 0330 on 9955 (or first airing of 1717 if ready in
time.) On WTWW: Thu 2101 on 9475, Sat 2330 on 9930, UT Sun 0401 on 5830. On
WWRB: UT Fri 0327v on 5050. On Area 51 via WBCQ: UT Mon 0300 on 5110v-CUSB.
Hamburger Lokalradio is supposed to be silent this Saturday (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 11715, April 10 at 1427, nothing from KJES, nor in previous hour.
When on between 13 and 16, it`s a bigsig here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

Bolivia, 5952.;485, Emisora Pio XII, 0110-0120, There seemed to be a female
talking with a male seemed to be talking on the phone in Spanish. This
conversation continued during the period. Signal was fair (Chuck Bolland,
April 11,2014)

Bolivia, 6134.79, Radio Santa Cruz, 0115-0130, With a good signal, noted a
program

of music with canned ID by a female before each tune. (Chuck Bolland April
11, 2014)

Peru, 4774.883, Radio Tarma, 0120-0130, Noted a faint signal here with
music.; Between each tune a male commented briefly. The station remained
at a threshold

level during the period. (Chuck Bolland, April 11, 2014)

Peru, 4810.05, Radio Logos, 0129-0145, With a threshold signal, noted a
steady

presentation of flute type music and sometimes vocals. Signal was ruined by
QRM. (Chuck Bolland, April 11, 2014)

** ALBANIA. 9845, April 11 at 0126 tune in to R. Tirana IS, but cuts off the
air, and then repeated carriers on-and-off mostly without the IS, until finally
by 0129 comes on and stays on for the 0130 English opening. Couldn`t hang
around to confirm if it remained on for the rest of the broadcast. The 23-24
Albanian service on 9850 was again noticeably weaker on April 10 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL [and non]. 6148-6170, April 10 at 2327, as I notice RHC [see CUBA] on
6165 now for the `Mesa Redonda` breakaway, there is also heavy interference
from some extremely out-of-whack signal making rapid pulses across this range,
and strong enough to QRM Cuba on 6165 itself. Could it be RHC`s own transmitter
doing this? A ute, a radar?

No, recheck at 0053 April 11 as RHC is off again, and now I can hear bits of
speech modulation in the pulses. RNB/RNA is still missing from 6180, so could
this be what`s become of it? Yes! The modulation peaks match what I hear on
their other frequency, 11780. Cuba apparently put 6165 on because of the other
RNB making a big het with otherwise OK modulation from 5999.6 onto RHC 6000.0,
and now Brazil is gettin` `em on the new frequency too, ha2. The heavy pulsing
QRM continues at 0105 as RHC is now in English back on 6165, and still with the
heavy het on 6000 too, the only other English frequency until The Cuban Five
overkill at 0500. Recheck at 0252, no change, still pulsing and hetting both.
RNB`s 250 kW transmitters periodically go out of whack and it takes a while to
get them back in whack. Doesn`t anyone around Rodeador Park turn on a radio and
listen to their own output? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also
EAST TURKISTAN; MEXICO

** CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC [non]. 17500, April 10 at 1723, something with poor
signal, presumably R. Ndeke Luka (lucky bird), the Hirondelle station in Bangui
broadcasting back to the CAR, now via Woofferton UK as in A-14 HFCC instead of
UAE as in B-13. WOF can come in a lot better here than Dhabbaya, but not yet,
only a little better (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [and non]. 9805, April 10 at 2351, Firedrake, yay, seldom heard any
more, fair signal atop victim, which per Aoki is: RFA in Tibetan via UAE this
hour only (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, April 10 at 2327, RHC is on this frequency at unscheduled time
--- it`s the `Mesa Redonda` TV simulcast, // 6000, which has that nasty
Brazilian het on it, so apparently the reason for adding 6165. This hour is
separate from other RHC Spanish not // on 11670, 15230, and an echo apart on
6070. But BRAZIL, q.v., gets RHC on 6165 too!!

15370, April 10 at 2331, RHC Portuguese with modulation somewhat suppressed and
distorted, but good signal level (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 6180, April 11 at 0106, poor signal sounds like CRI English,
and so it is, scheduled from Kashgar southwards, audiblized by the absence of
BRAZIL, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GREECE. 9420 > 7475 > 15630, April 11 at 0112, the triad of HR frequencies
in descending strength order from VG to P, Greek music. 9420 enough to blot out
Iran collision (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 6185, April 11 at 0106, XEPPM in the clear! No ACI with BRAZIL q.v.
gone from 6180, instead making big mess from 6148 to 6170. Undermodulated but
sufficiently readable fair signal, YL talking about pueblos ind?genas, e-mail I
think went ondaco...@radioeducacion.com.mx so it`s still separate during the
evening from MW 1060 XEEP (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6850.65, April 11 at 0101, pirate music here, poor signal,
then kid dialog, 0103 e-mail but missed it, Tarzan yell, ``operator of The
Crystal Ship`` mentioned, music; 0114 ``the Bubblegum Express``, more such
music; 0124 ``Why aren`t you a Democrat?``, ``The-Crystal-Ship`` ID by roboyl.
TCS was on 24 hours earlier with advance notice, but none tonight. Looks like
we`ll have to bandscan down to here not to miss a pirate below 7 MHz. I was
tuning on USB, but then found it just as readable on LSB, so maybe it was AM,
but seemed like the carrier was somewhat reduced.

More matching logs of this; original subject typo says 6859.5 AM:
http://freeradiocafe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4495
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, April 11 at 0058, R. Chaski carrier, I monitor continuously on
the PL-880 in case they have reset to cut off circa 0100, but keeps right on
going while I check other stuff on the porch with the DX-398. Cutoff as
expected, 0107:58*, a new record, 11 seconds later than one binite ago, and now
8 minutes ahead of my clear-sky-at-sunset streetlight firing up (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** RWANDA [non]. 17540, April 10 at 1723-1727+ open carrier/dead air,
presumably MADAGASCAR failing to modulate R. Impala/Mara; fair signal,
sometimes a trace of modulation but may have been cross overload from 17610
WHRI (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [and non]. 21600, April 10 at 1907, JBA signal here, WHRI
with Brother Scare? Yesterday first day on this new frequency ex-17730, it was
blasting in. I assumed it was on NW antenna and maybe it was then, but
registered eastward toward Africa. Still, should be more signal than this:
maybe propagation disturbance has cut down the first-hop MUF, so I check other
mostly US frequencies, finding: missing from 15825, 15610; poor on 17850-Spain,
17790, 15770; fair on 15550, 11760-Cuba; good on 13830, 13605 vs jamming,
12160; very good on 13845, 12105, 12050. Ergo: shorter distances, lower
frequencies survive such an event best even at midday (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
