This is strange but could also be good... the need for capacity building
for support of VistA is going to become, if it isn't already, a major
stumbling block for rapid and low cost deployment given the demand
stimultation that is going on. This should encourage companies to invest
in training
Are they REALLY planning to outsource these jobs? Have you gotten your pink
slip yet?
This is really strange if they say there are not enough people and then turn
right around and say they are going to outsource support. Of course, they
want to outsource support for M,, VistA, Java and Orac
OK, plan B. I'll see if I can get permission to post it.

I greatly enjoy Bhaskar's analogies and generally find them illuminating. I
think his
comparison of the development and maintenance of large software systems to that
of cities
is especially insightful.
Visualization of ideas as property is deeply disturbing to me. I see the space

John,
You don't need X if you are comfortable only working with your Linux box
remotely or from
a console. Your box is probably quite adequate for the purpose, even with X. I

Debian Woody is a good choice. It is stable and incredibly easy to keep up with

Yes, we (WorldVistA) can make the text available via a public wiki which
would allow anyone willing to help to add their input etc to the
documentation.
