The document that Nancy refrences is one that made its way to my desk over a year ago. It discourages us [VHA employees] from entering into contracts with private industry to support VistA unless we are *very* careful. It is not an outright ban, but... discretion and avoiding even the appearance

Greg, As you know, there are strict rules regarding what work government employees can or cannot do on the outside. If and when any government employee is put forward as a candidate to work on this project they will have to comply with these rules and go through the necessary approval process.
