not recognize that code; maybe somebody else can remember why the listing is
suppressing this information about READ and WRITE ACCESS. Looks like a bug
to me.

Kevin, do you know about FileMan's VERIFY utility? It lets you store a list
of entries whose values for a given field are deranged. Then you can go
through those entries and deal with them as you see fit.

in VALM stands for List Manager.
