Almost all modern browsers support it. It is becoming the preferred format
for graphics due to size and lack of licensing issues ;) All of the Mozilla
variants and IE support it, and that covers about 95%+ of what's used out
there currently!

card...maybe a simple mouse or keyboard, to rule out a problem with the
drive itself.
Or pick up that firewire card like you were considering. Maybe your USB
card is bad.
