I have heard that before, but have never had a problem. I do make sure that I
cross any possible wires at right angles. Had read some where that doing that
limits possible interference. Don't know if its true or not.

I spent the morning getting pdf's for the Westell 6100 (b90/c90) series and
the 2Wire 1000 series.
I'll spend time this afternoon reading. I got completely through the
online sign-up but the session
bombed on me at the last 'continue.' I avoided the static ip ($14.95/mo)

running Vista on my server and it seems OK but I am not ready to abandon a lot
of the sw I use on my main system. Server runs FTP sw and basically nothing
else but nero and email and occasionally used when the other one is busy. Set
for classic look. Vista Business ( joke ) but I do not need

Yes, I understand. I too use static IPs on my LAN (10.0.0.x series) and
have no problem with dynamic IP on the WAN side. Same as Verizon xdsl back
in 2000.
I have not re-tried the reorder yet. Spent the last several hours reading
the pdf's for the Westell and 2Wire modems. First
