The press is going crazy about this. Unless there's been new testing since,
the original report of 10% faster was ONE test performed by ONE person on
ONE application suite--Office 2007. I very much doubt that SP3 is going to
bring sweeping performance gains across the board.

Saving links inside the MS site is very often (YMMV) a waste of time.
They use active pages that are all changed in real time through
a changing database program structure/thinggy...

What's the problem with DRM? If you buy cheap CDs and rip yourself, you
never worry about it...if you really want to kill off DRM, don't buy
online digital media. Buy CD and DVDs and make your own.

The did get rid of the kill switch, which is funny. At this point, if
someone came up with reliable DX10 on XP, Vista would be dead (IMHO).

Rick,
Thank you for the link. Somehow during the long WinUpdate session,
MS decided to find and just install IE6.0. It came down and is all good
now. But, am saving you link for any rebuilds in the future.
Best,
Duncan

Someone here reported using it several weeks ago, IIRC.

shrug People are still benching XP against Vista? That's
silly. We already know that XP is faster. (Now to be fair, the
machine only had 1GB of RAM. Had it been bumped to 2GB, Vista may
