I favor Firefox over Opera mainly because of the number of extensions
available and the ability to customize it. But either one is definitely
preferable over IE and it may be a matter of personal preference.

Simple, it's not IE or Firefox. I would say the security is about the
same as Firefox; Opera possibly even better, maybe, IMO.

I use Fire FTP and IE VIew Lite as well.
The FTP stuff works pretty well right in a Firefox tab after you install it.
IE View Lite calls up IE to view pages you think might not be working correctly
in FireFox.
