I have an older, but still good Thinkpad T60. It came with XP Pro but
I upgraded it years ago to Win7 PRO. Something has happened to
the Ehternet card = Intel Pro/1000 PL. It is getting terrible
speeds, averaging only 9 MB/s. All the network components are working
fine on the other computers
Got the new power supply in and just as I'd feared it still doesn't work.
I get the 1 long beep, 3 short beep error (memory) and the onboard
diagnostic gives a 8.7. error (check CPU core voltage). It could be the
motherboard but at this point I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and

a couple more questionswhy DisplayPort? I have DVI and HDMI (IIRC).
Is there some benefit to Displayport over these two? Bandwidth or
something? What kind of vidcard drives two of these babies (with
Displayport, I mean)?
Also, what exac
