When you initialise an SSD you've plugged in, windows will ask what drive
letter you wish to assign it. This happens under Control Panel >
Administrative tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management
(which is exactly the same behaviour as a spindle)
the one thing that DOES matter is, is

Is this native display port on the video card to native display port on the
monitor? I had a Radeon card with native display port and tried a display
port to HDMI cable (monitor did not have native display port) and could
never get it to work. HDMI to HDMI (or DVI) and DVI to DVI worked fine.
