Now that the build is finished, I do know that I am now this
Dell mutt's "Doctor-for-life." Or, at least, until the owner finds another
Doctor. :)

This makes much sense too! The modem reports itself as type HCF so I used
the generic HCF driver from Conexant. The AC97 and HDA generic drivers are
for a type HSF modem. But, I'm still testing/looking.

(CT5
The AC'97 driver is likely the one you want. All of the Conexant modems
I've seen with Dell have used that driver.
HDA = High Def Audio
AC'97 = Standard sound cards
I think it's how it outputs it's whirrs and buzzes to the sound card
that determine the driver.
