did a clean restore of sp2 on a hp laptop then installed sp3. there were still updates to dl, though not very many.
streamed sp3 into the sp2 cd but during install for whatever reason could not find the hard drive. HP restore disk had no trouble. Have not had a change to test a regular oem/retail disk yet.
