Are you talking about ACL's? http://setacl.sourceforge.net/ Otherwise under XP I can read/set R-A-S-H attributes with Attrib: "Attrib " reads the flags of current directories files. "Attrib /s" reads the flags of sub-directories' files. "Attrib C:\somdir" reads the flags of specified directory.

Forc5, I did use the attrib cmd from the command line. It only shows me the actual files below the dir (container) level; not the attributes of the container. The attributes of the files in question are correct per the batch file, but I am still in question of the containers in the string. Still

Is there a tool that allows me to see the attributes (a/h/r/s) of file directories and/or at the parent drive level (like c:\)? I use the Hosts File. It seems to work for me. But, I have one machine (out of 5) that the included mvps.bat batch file fails on. With the tools I have/use, I can not
