This is a function of your Software (and Twain driver). I use Paperport 6 and/or 7, and in the advanced settings (I hit that button on the actual "preview screen" window) I look for a selection -- "descreen". Works for me. It also makes half-tone B&W newspaper photos scan correctly since they als
