Per Andrea's request and Amalia's repsonse: I am planning to attend the
roundtable for librarians of Center and
Synagogue from 3:45pm to 4:45 on Monday and am happy to stay longer to
network with other librarians from large
synagogues.

A great tool for your Firefox Internet browser is
Hebrew Calendar 1.0.4.73 The link is

I have used Library Thing for my personal collection for FREE, as

2) I'm looking for catalogs which list children's books (all subjects) by
age group (e.g. 0-2; 3-5; etc.)
Thank you.

The site automatically punctuates up to 160 hebrew characters, but
this function can be used only once a day.
More useful is the plug-in nikud toolbar, which effectively allows

I know it's really last minute to propose, but would any of you who

We received a letter from Ingram Library Services. The letter
indicated that to maintain an account, we would have to go through
Ingram's electronic funds transfer (EFT) procedures.

Two suggestions:
1. Could we please adopt “AJLCleveland2008” as our social bookmarking tag?
2. Do people use Twitter? I noticed that ALA Anaheim has set up
an account for members to use at their convention.

I've recently discovered LibraryThing, a Web 2.0 tool that lets you
catalog your books online, tag them and share them with the world
(but only if you want to). It's $15 annually for non-profit libraries
and less for personal ones. It searches Amazon.com or the Library of
