In my library I have a policy of not adding ARCs/galleys to the
collection for the following reasons:

to libraries. They're meant to be tools that help
A small correction:
IANAL but unless there is a signed written contract in place between
the publisher and the person reviewing the advance copy, there are no
legal issues with reselling or transferring the ARC. In the US, the
doctrine of first sale, allows people to do whatever they went with

It is very easy
Kudos to Diane and Joyce for their initiative with the AJL. This
will be excellent for those involved with mentoring. Why not start
with culling some of the pearls from the existing homepage, be it
FAQs, resources, etc.? The information is difficult to find, but yet
extremely valuable.

Dear Safranim,
Is there anyone in the New York City area that uses Surpass software
for their online catalog? If so, please answer me on my own email.
I am helping a school set up a library and they may want to use

Is there anyone who has gotten (and used) the new version of the
Lieberman Talmud Databank?
Is it online, or still only a CD version? How does it compare to the
2002 version?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

We are pleased to announce our new website

Does anyone want a collection of Jewish Book Month posters 1978-2002
or suggest an archive which might be interested? I'll send them.

Shalom,
I would like to hear from friends that are using OPAL library
software. I was asked about it from a library that wants to use it
instead of Athena.
