There is also an exception for libraries to copy material for archival
purposes (section 107). I would recommend contacting counsel for your
institution.

There are much newer copywright laws and they are much more stringent.
As religious organizations I'd suggest caution here - I think we
shouldn't stretch things... be sure to get a written statement from a
copywright attorney, specifically addressing lending from a library.

Hello.
Big changes are in store for our AJL Newsletter. Starting with the
first issue of 2011, we will be switching from paper to electronic
publishing of the Newsletter. In addition, we will be separating the
News section from the Reviews section. The Council voted on this
following weeks
I have left my position at the Tycher Library in Dallas, and have the
task of cataloging a Holocaust collection at a local university that
will probably never exceed 3,000-5,000 items (books and DVDs). I
would appreciate some recommendations for software programs for this
size collection.
The Slavic studies librarians have done a lot of work in the
copyright area with particular application to non-US materials. Best
people to contact would be Janice Pilch of the Univ of Illinois and
ALA, and Michael Brewer of Arizona State.
