[ha-Safran]: Looking for a book about the Middle East

A patron is wanting a fair and balanced book about the history of the Middle East. Does anyone have a title I can recommend. This person is not Jewish and is interested in learning about the Middle East. Thank you, Bernie Maengen Eugene, Oregon Messages and opinions expressed on Hasafran are
