Safranim --

Most of you know that I don't usually "shill" for books. But in my
research I've come across the Arcadia Publishing series of local
histories. They are being sold in each city, so it's easy to assume
they are regional. In addition to the dozens of city and
neighborfhood books, there are about 30 of them devoted to Jewish
commuinities and Jewish city histories.

There isn't much text in them; they're basically photographic
collections with extensive captions. But for those who want to add
local information on other cities, they are worth the $20 a volume.
The website -- arcadiapublishing.com -- allows searches by
subject. I used "Jewish" and they gave me 46 hits, including some
places that surprised me.
