JOY UNGERLEIDER JEWISH BOOK MONTH PROGRAM CELEBRATES TEMPLE ISRAEL’S AUTHORS. SUNDAY DECEMBER 5, 10:00 – 12:00.
We are blessed here at Temple Israel with a rich cadre of authors who write on topics ranging from the Jews of Boston, to the Jews of Lowell to the Jews in China, as well as on how girls can succeed in science, the history of Jewish women in the U.S., and dealing with grief through words and art. This Sesquicentennial year is a fitting time to celebrate them and their work as part of the annual Joy Ungerleider Jewish Book Month Program. On Sunday December 5, from 10:00 – 12:00, you will have an opportunity to meet our authors in an intimate setting, and hear them discuss what they write, why they write, and the influence of Judaism on their work.
Below, is a partial list of those who will be participating in this event, along with some of the books they have written. The authors will be divided into three "fish-bowl" style panels, moderated by temple members Pam Belluck (NY Times), Rachelle Cohen (Boston Herald) and Gail Harris (WBUR).
We hope you will join us on December 5!
