Hello Safranim

I just wanted to let you know of a fellowship possibility to use materials 
in the Department of Special Collections at UCLA. We have a substantial 
collection of Hebraica and Judaica manuscripts which might be of interest.

The James and Sylvia Thayer Short-Term Research Fellowships support the use 
of special collections materials by visiting scholars and UCLA graduate 
students. Special collections materials are located in the Arts, 
Biomedical, Music, and Research libraries and the University Archives.

Research residencies may last up to three months between March 1 and 
December 22, 2006. Recipients receive stipends ranging from $500 to $4000. 
(Awards granted in 2004 averaged $2200; awards granted in 2005 averaged $1400.)

U.S. citizens engaged in graduate level, post-doctoral, or independent 
research are invited to apply.

Applications are due December 16, 2005, and should include:



Cover letter
Curriculum vitae
Outline of research and special collections to be used (two pages maximum)
Brief budget for travel, living, and research expenses
Dates to be spent in residence
Two letters of recommendation from faculty or other scholars familiar with 
the research project
