Dear Hasafranim,

I just came across the Hank Zipzer series by Henry Winkler (I know,
it's been around since 2003). In an interview back in 2003, Winkler
said he hadn't given Hank a religion, but that "his mother runs a New
York deli that her father started", so there's an ethnic hint there,
aside from the name. It sounds like a wonderful series, but I just
wonder if this bare ethnicity is enough to warrant buying for a
Jewish library. Has anyone else bought the series and has there been
anything new added to the character? I sure could use some more books
for boys in this age group.
