Hi Everyone, Today I had the pleasure of listening to Professor Xu Xin, Professor of Judaic Studies at Nanjing University in China. This is his 11th trip to the United States and he is responsible for creating the only Institute of Jewish Studies in China. www.judaic.cn He has an honorary degree from Bar Ilan University and has studied Talmud and Torah extensively and is passionate about teaching the Chinese about Judaism and its values. <www.judaic.cn> <www.judaic.cn> The University currently needs books on Judaica for their studies and I hope we can help them out. Getting rich materials about Judaism will enable teaching the Chinese people to learn about our heritage and gifts to the world. Here is a quote from their current brochure: * "Send books on Jewish history, Judaism and Jewish culture to enrich our library for research and teaching. Used books are just fine. It doesn't matter if books are duplicated as they would then be shared with other Judaic centers in China."* The one drawback is that we need to send them to China--there is no local address. Perhaps we can collect materials and send them all at one time. Any suggestions? Thanks for helping out with this cause.
