JPS has a full roster of authors who lecture around the country, 
ideal for Jewish Book Month and other speaking engagements.  Here are 
some of our featured authors:



Ellen Frankel

Imagine the Hebrew Bible as a child's favorite storybook! The new JPS 
Illustrated Children's Bible, by acclaimed storyteller and Jewish 
scholar Ellen Frankel, is sure to earn a special place in the hearts 
of young readers in this marvelous retelling of 53 Bible tales.

Josh Lambert

Read any good books lately? Josh Lambert has read hundreds, and his 
American Jewish Fiction: A JPS Guide is the go-to book for individual 
readers and Jewish book club members seeking ideas on what to read 
next.  Lambert is an engaging speaker in his own right and can 
moderate panel discussions with fiction authors or run special 
sessions for book club members and coordinators.



Arie Kaplan

Arie Kaplan's popular full-color book, From Krakow to Krypton: Jews 
and Comic Books,explores the significant role that American Jews and 
Jewish culture have played in the comics industry. Kaplan, a comic 
book writer and comedian, is a dynamic, entertaining speaker who 
presents regularly to children, teens and adults around the country.



Reuven Firestone

What does the Qur'an really say about Jews? Why is Jerusalem so 
important to Muslims? In An Introduction to Islam for Jews, Reuven 
Firestone presents a comprehensive introduction to Islam from a 
Jewish perspective. Firestone, who spent a year in Cairo on a 
Fulbright Fellowship, addresses questions of particular interest to 
Jewish audiences and has attracted major attention as a speaker 
nationally and internationally.



Maggie Anton

Author of the award-winning Rashi's Daughters series, Maggie Anton 
has tailored Book 1: Joheved to a younger audience in her JPS book 
Rashi's Daughter: Secret Scholar, appropriate for ages 10 and up. A 
popular speaker, Maggie Anton is an ideal choice for teens, women's 
groups, and mother-daughter brunches.



Vivian Grey

Spy or baseball star? Moe Berg: The Spy Behind Home Plate, a 
biography for young adults byVivian Grey, looks at one of baseball's 
most intriguing heroes. Grey's animated talks are geared to children, 
young adults and adults.

I just wanted to add that authors Ellen Frankel and Josh Lambert are 
part of the Jewish Book Council's NETWORK for Jewish Book 
Month.  They are still available to speak at non-participating 
venues, but arrangements would be made through me and not JBC.
