Like Rita Allen, I forward messages to others; it
never occurred to me that it was a problem. Since
signing up for this listserv was so easy, I assumed it
is open to anyone who tries to do so and therefore
everyone can read all its messages. Is anyone ever
turned away from ha-Safran?

Hasafran is no longer a private forum. The messages
are now archived at
http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/index.html
Those who now post to hasafran have little expectation
of privacy ; anyone with Internet access may read your
messages --- including those who
Poshi Mikalson has raised an interesting point as to whether it is
permissible to forward messages from HaSafran to someone who is not on the
list. I sincerely hope that this is allowed. I frequently forward material
from HaSafran to my Rabbi because here are sources that he is not likely to
