Dear Safranim,

The September 2008 issue of "Stories for Children Magazine" includes
both an interview with Ambassador Asher Naim and the story he
co-authored with award winning author Sylvia Rouss, "Jognau, the
Dreamer". He was the Ambassador of Israel to Ethiopia (1990-91) at
the time of Operation Solomon and largely due to his efforts, during a
24-hour period, 14,200 Ethiopian Jews were airlifted and flown to
Israel. His story "Saving the Lost Tribe:The Rescue and Redemption of
the Ethiopian Jews" was published by Random House in 2003.

In the interview, Ambassador Naim said, "Sylvia Rouss succeeded in
conveying the daily life of an Ethiopian family with interest. It was
an honor for me to have her choose my book for a children's story
because I believe "Operation Solomon" is one of the greatest
humanitarian stories in our not-always-sensitive world of human
aspiration for a better society."

You can read both the story, "Jognau, the Dreamer", and the interview
with Ambassador Naim at these sites/links:
