Another possible source is _The Jewish Time Line Encyclopedia_, although it gives more years than dates and often gives Hebrew dates without the corresponding English ones. A quick glance through reminded me of two important dates : July 4 (1976) - Israeli commandos rescue hostages in Entebbe August 16 (1915) - Leo Frank lynched by mob ***** A related aside : I've always wanted to see a calendar of "Important dates in Judaica Librarianship". Heck, AJL could publish its own calendar and sell it to members (I'd probably buy one myself). I don't know so many dates, though.
