Dear Members of Ha-safran, I wanted to introduce myself and our library, and to ask a question of the NY/CT/MA librarians on this list.
The Temple Beth Tikvah's Harold Besso Library, with its 2700 volume collection, has hired me to run its library since April of 2004. The list has been a wonderful source of information. Now that I have gone through the hundreds of gift books that were waiting for me, I am now ready to new order materials for the collection. Is it typical of libraries to order titles from publishers directly, or is there a consolidator that could be used? Our orders may not be larger than a couple of hundreds of dollars at a time.
