Hello to all,
I received the following message from Nitza Gazit, who is the
English language coordinator for NItzanim-Eshkol elementary school in
Karmiel, and who has been a recipient of our Books for Israel
shipments. As I know no one is New York City, I am hoping someone on
this list can refer her to someone who can help. Thank you very much!

                          Judy Petersen
                          Library Director

                          Fort Collins, CO

Shalom Dear Judy

Hope you are all well and having a good holiday.

This letter is not about school or books. It's personal; it is about
my 26 year old son Tzach.

A year ago he was diagnosed as having ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's
disease, which is characterized by progressive muscle weakness and paralysis.

As to now he can walk very slowly and his arms and hands are also weakened.

A week ago he returned from a wonderful visit to New York City, where
he stayed in a friend's house. Tzach liked New York very much and
wishes to live and work there for 4 to 6 months. He needs a place lo
live and an occupation that suit his skills and limitations. He has
full mastery of English.

I need your help in contacting the Jewish community or the Jewish
agency in New York in order to help him carry out his plans. Time is
a major factor in his situation. He is open to every idea.

Tzach is a lawyer; he graduated law school in Tel Aviv University
in excellent grades. He works in a big office in Tel Aviv. He is
about to finish his year of training on February 2006. During his
studies, Tzach was a volunteer teacher to constitution, law and good
citizenship and developed values of Zionism among the youth. He also
worked as a guide in the Supreme Court in Jerusalem on subjects of
architecture legislation and constitutional law.

His father and I would very much like, and feel, it is obligatory to
grant each and every wish of our son, but I am the only provider in
our house hold and it is impossible for us to help in any way. This
is why I send this plea to you. I would like him to be under the
wings of the Jewish community.

A fund will be opened soon for contributions.

Sorry if my letter is distressful. Hope you can help him.

Thank you so much

Eli and Nitza Gazit from Carmiel
