Well, I would be very much surprised if the National Yiddish Book
Center digitized all the Forverts issues - this would really be a
major project... I am sure they did not do that (and it also would
not fit into their agenda, as far as I understand).
I looked for older Forverts
I just subscribed to this list, so I don't know what the original
question was nor have I read previous messages in an ongoing discussion.
I only want to confirm that the Forverts and the Forward
Association indeed do not digitize older issues nor do they have an
archive of older issues.

have you tried the yiddish book center? i haven't been there in years
( but hope to go next month) but i seem to remember something about
the Forward there.

YIVO, alas, appears to have no plans to digitize any of their
Forverts issues.
And my query to the Forward has gone unanswered -- I suspect that the
copies of the Yiddish supplement at http://yiddish.forward.com were
all born-digital, as none are any earlier than 1999.
