Hi everyone, I work in a orthodox Jewish neighborhood in a public library and I am thinking about ways to be more inclusive. These are some ideas:
- More Sunday service - Highlighting books by Orthodox publishers/books in Yiddish/Hebrew too - Programming that may be on chol hamoed when kids are out of school (opposed to our typical 3PM programming for public school kids when Yeshiva kids are still in school) - Educating staff about Jewish holidays such as not just putting out books for Hanukkah on display - Outreach at a Jewish institution - highlighting ‘clean reads’ for teens This is just first steps of brainstorming with some others. Please let me know if you can help me expand on these or if you have some new considerations. Thanks, Danielle
