conventions. She was always concerned about Jewish life in Argentina.  Baruj

I am so sorry to hear this news.LeahGracious, knowledgable,
refined, understanding, tolerant, elegant, a truly beautiful woman and human
being.Always welcoming and inquisitive, great for a chat or for repartee,
serious and businesslike, yet unlike so many others stillexcited by new
material, ideas and knowledge. She will be missed by all of us who have known
her, especially by the students, those she mentored, along with her
colleagues, and most of all by her family, who she loved to talk about,
supported and loved.May her memory be for a blessing and may her deeds continue
to influence others for years to come.Chaim KlineOn May 5, 2019, at 9:04 AM,
Paul Glassman via Hasafran <hasafran@lists.osu.edu> wrote:Dear colleagues,I'm
very sad to report that Leah Adler, Head Librarian of Hebraica-Judaica at
Yeshiva University, died this weekend after an illness that she managed quietly
and successfully until recently.  The funeral will be in Israel, and the flight
to Israel is today.  As plans for a memorial at the Gottesman Library of
Hebraica-Judaica materialize, we'll send out a notice.  Throughout her illness,
rather than talk about herself and her physical discomfort, Leah expressed
concern for others--about the effect of her absence on their work loads.  In
the workplace, Leah was always disarmingly candid and honest; she never
hesitated to bring up important issues, regardless of how challenging those
issues were.  After decades of service, Leah seems inseparable from the history
of Yeshiva University Libraries.  We all share in mourning her loss.  Let us
all support one another as we grieve.--PaulPAUL GLASSMANDirector of University
