I’m writing op behalf of Emanuela Barasch-Rubinstein author of Five Selves. It was sent to our general address. Hello, I am the author of Five Selves, a collection of five novellas published by Holland House Books in the UK. I wrote the stories in Hebrew; wishing to make them available to a wider public, I translated them into English. I have published several academic books, but this is my first experience with literary writing.Though the stories take place in Israel, they deal with general themes: the death of a loved one; modern contemporary values of success; overcoming a phobia. Only one story is about Israeli society: three women that represent three generations of Israelis. The last novella is a more experimental one: a man lost his memory in a car accident, and now examines his life from an estranged primordial perspective.
