Hi everyone,
Looking for sources on why God tests. A high school senior is interested
in why God tests Jews in general, and possibly any individual, but she's
hoping for something written more recently than the medieval Bible
commentaries.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dear Safranim,
Does anyone (particular academic librarians and/or those working with
German and European collections) have experience working with the company
DiGento? They deal with library collections, especially electronic
resources.
I received an inquiry from a researcher about doing business
Greetings, All ~
I have a question for you:
One of my now-grown-up students (now 20 years old) has written a non-fiction

Can anyone recommend an agent for him to work with?

Greetings, all:
Tomorrow my undergraduate course on "21st-Century Jewish Literature" will
be discussing Dara Horn's Civil War fiction (part of a unit on Jewish
experience across time and place). I've been looking for videos in which
the author speaks about the book, but so far, I haven't
I am a part time librarian at a Reform synagogue library in San Antonio, Texas.
Our library is fortunate to have supportive clergy, staff and board, as well as
a dedicated library committee. Our library committee hosts a quarterly book

Dear Safranim
Would anyone know if Julius Rosenwald's (of Sears) father had connections to
the Baltimore Jewish community in the 1870s or with Sir Moses Monetefiore?
Thanks very much

I'm trying to track down the source for a reported statement made by Benzion
Netanyahu (ne Mileikowsky) in a 1937 journal article predicting the Holocaust.
The student cited a Wikipedia article on B. Netanyahu but no sources were
cited. Has anybody ever heard of this prediction and if so,
Hello, Donald,
You have, then, seen the Wikipedia article

Messages and
I am very interested to know how librarians have handled the dilemma
regarding the book FRAGMENTS, MEMORIES OF A WARTIME CHILDHOOD, by Binjamin
Wilkomerski. I didn't know this book was in our collection but it was
apparently a long-lost book that was just returned and so I am confronted
with it.
Hi Julie,
Check out the wonderful article by Sheryl Stahl and Joel Kushner in the
current issue of *Judaica Librarianship* at http://ajlpublishing.org/jl/
entitled *Be-tzelem Elohim*—In the Image of God: Identifying Essential
Jewish LGBTQ Books for Jewish Libraries
Hi, please tell me if this is the right email for posting a question to AJL
members. (It has been a while since I posted to Hasafran.)
I'm looking for a list of recommended resources for enriching an LGBT
collection in a Reform congregation. Thanks!
Thanks.

Good Morning!
Our library would like to have a Parent/Child book discussion this summer. The
age range is 7-10, girls and boys. I have a few good titles, but I'd like some
suggestions. Could you please send them to me?
Thanks so much!
