Safranim:

Below is a message from Yoel Perez, a storyteller and scholar from Haifa,
Israel. I have personally met him in Haifa and we had dinner together..

====================

My brothers and sisters: the storytellers.

You know me as an Israeli storyteller, whose website *C. **F. F.* – *Center
of Folktales and Folklore*
(https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://folkmasa.org/a00e.htm__;!!KGKeukY!0ABoMVBCLAYaWD9C8XAJMouqkCthfClyg8FKlCWLokyU31qZj3A7vdbCHh_15WjFDHGvgy2Oh5GreuqUFRtNlAQYbL3fmahAlA$
 ) contains a
database of nearly 5000 folktales from all over the world (
https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://folkmasa.org/yashpeh/yashpeh.htm__;!!KGKeukY!0ABoMVBCLAYaWD9C8XAJMouqkCthfClyg8FKlCWLokyU31qZj3A7vdbCHh_15WjFDHGvgy2Oh5GreuqUFRtNlAQYbL1f4_Nsxw$
 ).

What is happening today in the State of Israel: the terrible massacre
that members of the terrorist organization Hamas committed against
innocent civilians, and the war forced upon us against our will, is tragic.
In response,* The Storytellers Association in Israel* joined the war
effort. Many are performing before children and adults displaced from their
homes, who have become refugees. Most of the activity is voluntary. I
want to support their activity.

On the eve of the war, I wrote a love story called *'Sometimes Dreams
Come True*'. I published the book in Hebrew and translated it into English.

It is a love story that takes place in the magical landscapes of Scotland
where I spent some months with my wife. The heroine of the story is a
doctor and a storyteller. During the romance she tells her beloved
folktales passed down in her family from generation to generation. She
connects them to their love story, and reveals to him through the stories
some of the hidden secrets of the art of storytelling. This is a book that
speaks to the hearts of storytellers, but it is also intended for anyone
who enjoys hearing stories and delighting in the wisdom of the generations.

Under the guise of what is known as a 'romantic novel', the author allows
his readers a glimpse into the magical world of storytellers, relying on
the extensive experience he himself has gained as a storyteller.

Those of you interested in reading it as *a color digital copy* please
contact me and send any amount of money you can donate, from $10 or more *via
PayPal* (Yoel Perez +972-507507626).

All proceeds will be transferred to the Board of Directors of *The
Storytellers Association in Israel*. Funds will be used to continue our
activities, particularly at this terrible time. If you send money, please
let me know your name, phone No. and Email, so I can send you the digital
book.

with prayers for peace in our world, and gratitude for your storytelling,

Yoel Shalom Perez

*Yoel Shalom Perez* is a writer and translator, but before anything else he
is a storyteller. The art of storytellers is an ancient art, and Yoel, as a
folklore researcher and a member of the Storytellers Association in Israel,
works to cultivate the art of oral storytelling among adult audiences
alongside other performing arts.
