To those that attended the 2016 conference and to those that missed it.
The 2016 Conference in Charleston was not the first time, since I have been
involved in AJL almost 30 years ago , that we had a conference in a city with
relatively small Jewish population, but it was the first time that we had no
local committee. The national committee was three dedicated AJL members that
worked very hard to offer unique experimental programs. They met their goal.
There were engaging sessions that answered the needs of the attendees. Thank
you Shoshanah – the conference chair, Irene Munster and Gail. The list is too
long here to thank the others that worked behind the scenes, but I will be
remiss if I don’t thank the volunteers from Charleston that showed us what
Southern hospitality is all about. Thanks Y’all !
Next year conference will be in New York city. It, also, have am experimental
nature.The sessions will be in the HUC building and will start on Monday
instead of our usual Sunday opening night. Jim Rosenbloom, the national
conference chair works diligently with the local committee. Mark your calendar
for June 19-21, 2017 and plan to join us.
