Upper School Library Media Specialist Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School Rockville, MD Job Code: LM100 The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School is seeking candidates to fill the position of Upper School Library Media Specialist (grades 6-12) for the 2017-2018 academic year. The Library Media Specialist will provide leadership and expertise to align the Upper School Library Media program with the mission and goals of the school, making it a key part of learning and instruction. The ideal candidate will excel in teaching the effective and ethical use of ideas and information at both the middle and high school level. S/he will be adept at emerging instructional, information, and research technologies, and will collaborate with teachers to foster skilled and enthusiastic research experiences across subjects. Candidates should possess a master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association and have some familiarity with the written Hebrew language and Judaica. Experience in a school media center environment, completion of a teacher preparation program and/or educational degree, and state certification in school library media are preferred but not required.
