Can someone enlighten me and explain what chapters exist in the NY/NJ areas
and what towns/cities are local members of these chapters? I haven't been
to a chapter meeting in over 10 years and as far as I know, we no longer
have a local AJL chapter.

The NYMA chapter has been slowly ramping back up; they had an event just a
few weeks ago. Noreen Wachs may have more information.

So is NJ supposed to join with NYMA? Are there any other chapters besides

Esther,There was an AJL/NYMA meeting on May 30 in Manhattan dealing with the
Librarian's role in Holocaust education.NYMA has been dormant since about

NYMA pretty much included the entire New York Metropolitan Area so I'm
assuming that certainly meant NY and NJ. I'm not sure about PA and CT--I
think I remember them joining NYMA meetings as well.Bruchie

New Jersey librarians were never regarded as "joining with NYMA," they were
always part of NYMA - we were NYMA presidents and board members. NYMA
stands for New York Metropolitan Area and New Jersey is part of the greater
New York area. I do not recall there ever being a separate New Jersey
