I've got the same problem as the original poster, and yes the bison
executable is in my PATH, but bison is looking for m4shuger.m4 under the
root: /usr/local/share/bison/m4sugar/m4sugar.m4, not where I put bison,
(which is under my $HOME).

Hi Irvine,
Since install path of Bison is not central, you should add Bison path to
your $PATH env variable.
