Install the new Linux. After the installation the new grub will fix it.

r usb device will be completely erased.
If you write the destination device where to write Super Grub2 Disk
device you might end up losing your internal hard disk content.

had to fix or workaround this.
Or maybe I didn't need to.
The code would be here:

you could try to press: 'c'
And then run 'ls'
and tell us what Grub sees.
2) As an alternative you can try my former SG2D 2.02s9 release which had
implemented another search algorithm:

1. How do you put exactly those live cds into the USB ?
Do you use the DD method or another one?
2. Can you please try Super Grub2 Disk Hybrid with the DD method?

I cannot help on how to obtain and install upstream GRUB2 to a dedicated
partition. Others might.
Not exactly what you want. Anyways if you want a dinamic menu take a look
at Super Grub2 Disk scripts. You will have to tailor them to do
specifically what you want though.
E.g.
https://github.com/su
ed.
If you write the destination device where to write Super Grub2 Disk
device you might end up losing your internal hard disk content.

ere your conclusions so that we can take advantage
of them later. The minimal image for floppy is not a priority of mine
though.
I think I already mentioned these scripts but it was the time when there
was not an appropiated script for building Super Grub2 Disk in them.

Another workaround is to force grub not to link stage1 to stage1_5 which
can be done with install command manually or using the Super Grub Disk's
hacked's grub's setup command. But it is not recommended.
