xpdf is GPL'd. Where is the problem? Do pdfs have patents o
the caching
mechanism would be worthwhile. But why not just use an existing
caching proxy such as squid? Is there some specific functionality
you'd want it to have? A caching proxy would have to speak http
anyway, not fs, and translating between them is what the httpfs is
for.
I remember something about it having the timeout set to 0, because in older
versions of grub 0 meant wait forever, and that the config didn't get
changed when it was made to mean wait 0 seconds instead. Perhaps that's
what it is?

The basic idea here is to allow some users to have root access (killing

when I sent before, and I don't think it got out.)

(I'm presuming you can't have multiple GIDs already, but I'm not
completely sure.)
Is it possible to set up a translator for a directory (with multiple
GIDs per file) while keeping the contained files in the parent
filesystem?
On a kinda/sorta related note, are there plans (I know that there's

no single major advantage that it can tote over the
competition, but it doesn't have to. Hurd is better, period. Hurd lays
the foundation for other apps to tote its superiority. Think
ApacheFS...
