1 MALAYSIA - THE CULTURAL VALUES: LEARN FROM NAJIB TUN RAZAK

In our multi
racial society, there is often an intermingling among the various races, hence
a mixture of our various cultures. It is imperative in such a society to unite
the various races under a common cultural benchmark. This is not in direct
clash with the view held and advocated by many that racial identity must be
preserved.

A One (1)
Malaysia culture not only is a form of national trade mark but it is also an
evidence of the harmonious way of life that is so characteristic of our society
and when every right thinking citizen should strive to maintain. After all, we
are all going to live with one another, “under the same roof” and sooner we
understand one another the better it is for communal unity.

A Malaysian
culture must be maintained and developed only from the existing cultures of the
various races. In other views, it is integration. Caring society need to be
exercised in fostering this common culture because an apparent over emphasis on
the culture of a certain race may lead to communal discontent. All relevant
races culture shall not be given priority and the ingredients must come equally
from all.

Forget old
fashioned and conservative way in such matters that approached by PKR, DAP
& PAS. Their hypocrite verbal and action have been negatively impacted to
our people since more than 50 years. The people who can be responsible mainly
for the fostering of this culture are the present generation of teenagers.

How can we
instill into the teenagers an appreciation of “1 Malaysia’ concept? As it is,
not
many youngsters can sit for one hour at a cultural show and really appreciate
what the performers are trying to do?

The rapid
westernization that bring in by top opposition party leader such as gay,
by-sexual, doing a road protest, published false statement to damages our PM
reputation etc, are indeed a stumbling block to a sure implementation of a
Malaysia culture.

There are
many ways in which the people can help to practice out the true value of
appreciating, not the culture of one’s race only but that of those with whom
one rubs shoulders daily also.

We can
introduce a Mandarin Language special class in school among the Malays pupil.
The same thing goes to Chinese pupil to learn Tamil and vice versa. It can be
started from Teachers & Parents Association in school.

This helps
in many ways to foster friendly relations among the races as it serves to
facilitate communication in schools and our daily routine. Of course, there are
electronic and conventional Medias whose services can be invaluable in fostering
our 1 Malaysia culture. There are many ways of achieving a Malaysian culture,
but whether they succeed is only a matter of time and chances.
