Well, in Germany, and as far as I know in Europe, most labs use ethanol at 96 and 99 percent as the last two steps in tissue processing. These ethanols are are denatured with MEK (= Butanon, Methylethylketon). Methanol or isopropyl is not allowed as denaturation agent in Europe, otherwise you

Most places use "reagent alcohol" which, from most suppliers, is a mongrel blend of whatever is cheapest, and not even listed on the label. It's usually made up of a blend of ethanol, methanol, and isopropyl. Good luck finding what the percentages are. I've called one vendor before, and even
